Cole Sims was clutch at the plate with ducks on the pond on Saturday, driving in five on two hits to lead Boyle County Varsity Rebels past North Laurel North Laurel High School Jaguars Varsity 17-7 on Saturday.  Sims drove in runs on a groundout in the first, a single in the third, and a home run in the fourth.

North Laurel North Laurel High School Jaguars Varsity scored four runs in the first inning, but Boyle County Varsity Rebels still managed to pull out the victory.  North Laurel North Laurel High School Jaguars Varsity batters contributing to the big inning included Caden Harris, J. Douglas Gilliam,  Kyler Elza, and Gavin Hurst, all driving in runs in the inning.

Boyle County Varsity Rebels took an early lead in the first inning when Bryan Moore singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Boyle County Varsity Rebels took the lead for good with nine runs in the third inning.  In the third Sage Dawson doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, Avery Bodner singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Eli Glasscock doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, Luke Gaffney drew a walk, scoring one run, Sims singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run, and Moore singled on a 1-1 count, scoring three runs.

Brayden West got the win for Boyle County Varsity Rebels. The righty surrendered three runs on six hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking one.

Blaize Jones took the loss for North Laurel North Laurel High School Jaguars Varsity. The righty allowed 11 hits and 14 runs over two and a third innings.

Logan Marsee started the game for Boyle County Varsity Rebels. The pitcher allowed four hits and four runs over one-third of an inning

Boyle County Varsity Rebels launched one home run on the day. Sims put one out in the fourth inning.
