Gaffney's Three Run HR Reclaims the Lead in the Seventh to Defeat Somerset

Boyle County Varsity Rebels stole the lead late and defeated Somerset Varsity Jumpers 6-4 on Thursday.  Boyle County Varsity Rebels was down 4-3 in the top of the seventh inning when Luke Gaffney homered on a 1-2 count, scoring three runs.

 

Boyle County Varsity Rebels earned the victory despite allowing Somerset Varsity Jumpers to score three runs in the fifth inning.  Somerset Varsity Jumpers's big inning was driven by a single by Bryant and a home run by Grundy.

 

In the first inning, Boyle County Varsity Rebels got their offense started.  Blake Russell's sac fly scored one run for Boyle County Varsity Rebels.

 

Russell earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for Boyle County Varsity Rebels. The pitcher allowed four hits and zero runs over two and a third innings, striking out two and walking zero.
